Some pieces are about an artist. This one is about a country. A Jewellers is proud to present Asake's Nigeria Coat of Arms chain, a one-of-one pendant that takes the national emblem of Nigeria and builds it in diamonds, pearls and white gold.
A coat of arms, in full
Every element of the emblem is there. The black shield at the centre carries the Y-shaped band that stands for the meeting of the Niger and Benue rivers. Above it, the eagle. On either side, two horses rear up to hold the shield, their manes and muscles picked out in pavé-set diamonds. Along the base, the Costus spectabilis flowers that grow across the country, and beneath them a banner reading "Faith and Peace".
The whole crest is worked in three dimensions, so the eagle's wings, the horses and the flowers stand off the shield and catch light from every side. A border of pearls runs around the outside edge, finished with pavé diamonds between each one.

The chain
The pendant hangs from a chain of diamond-set beads, spaced with pearls and capped with green stones in a nod to the Nigerian flag. It is built to carry the weight of the piece and to look as considered as the pendant itself.
Made for Asake
We posted it with one line: "This piece is for Nigeria." Asake has worn A Jewellers before, and this piece follows his Skating Soldier chain as the next chapter. Where that was about him, this one is about where he comes from. Within hours of him unveiling it, the chain was being shared across Nigerian music press and social media as a statement of national pride worn around the neck.
Carrying a national symbol is a responsibility, and we treated it as one. Every detail was checked against the official emblem before a single stone was set.
Your story, your piece
Every A Jewellers custom piece starts the same way: a conversation about what the piece needs to say, a sketch, and a one-off made exactly to your brief. A flag, a crest, a name, a place. If it means something to you, it can be made.
